- 1 cup wheat flour
- Salt – to taste
- Water – for sprinkling
- 2 tbsp oil
- ½ tsp mustard seeds
- ½ tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp urad dal
- 1 tsp chana dal
- 1 dry red chilli – broken
- 1–2 green chillies – chopped
- 1 tsp ginger – finely chopped
- Few curry leaves
- 1 small onion – chopped
- ¼ tsp turmeric powder
- 2–3 tbsp grated coconut
Instructions
Step 1: In a bowl, add wheat flour and a pinch of salt. Sprinkle water gradually while mixing until the flour becomes crumbly. Pulse once in a mixer for a coarse texture and set aside.
Step 2: Heat oil in a tawa. Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, urad dal, chana dal, and dry red chilli. Let them splutter.
Step 3: Add green chillies, ginger, and curry leaves. Sauté for a few seconds.
Step 4: Add chopped onions and cook until soft.
Step 5: Add turmeric powder and salt. Mix well.
Step 6: Add the crumbled wheat flour and stir to combine.
Step 7: Sprinkle a little water, cover the pan, and cook on low flame for 5 minutes. While it cooks, gently break the wheat flour crumbles with a spatula to soften and separate them.
Step 8: Add grated coconut, mix gently, and turn off the heat.
Step 9: Serve hot and enjoy!
